2025 : How to Live with pain

In the fall of 2024, I met my biological family in Jeonju, Korea, for the first time. I got to see where my ancestors came from. When I came home, I realized there was an apparent reason for my constant painting of mountains. I’m convinced these landscapes have lived in my subconscious all along.

The abstract language I used to paint was universal, and I think it is suitable for many. The works below are intended for a few. They are surreal, specific, and contain a new visual language I am beginning to understand. There are nods to previous years throughout, but it is fair to say that this is genuinely new work for me.

A little note: The last painting, 'A Cold Case', was created first. The rest took over a year to complete. I hope the details, layers, and depth reflect the long hours of consideration and discernment I invested while creating them. Sorry, there are so few, but I haven’t been more proud of my work in years.
